Opinion 2006 Lincoln Mark LT

Have a good friend that bought a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT new. Has 105k miles, looks like new and going to give me 1st shot at it. Any known problems / recommendations for these trucks? I've only ridden in it twice. Very well maintained. Thanks to all who respond.

This may not be the best forum to ask this question since the focus is on the higher performance trucks. The Mark LT is just an ultra loaded F150 with extra lipstick, so I'd expect it to be similarly reliable. Removal of the spark plugs is a problem on the 3 valve 5.4 engine--if your friend had the plugs changed at 100k miles or earlier, you're set for a while. Otherwise, just be aware that the more power equipment and electronics you have on a vehicle as it gets older, the more stuff that can go bad.

Good luck,
George

Thanks George! I know it is just a "badged" up 150, but it does look nice and he is offering a real good deal on it. He just paid $550 for the tune up. What's the big deal on the spark plugs and why so expensive?

The reason I posted is... my wife has a 2003 Explorer limited and it is nothing but trouble. Bad wheel bearing design, tranny, etc. Just don't want another lemon!

Sorry... no need to reply. I just Googled the 54.5 3v spark plug procedure. Read the reply from F150.net Damn... sounds as bad as the 03 Explorer wheel bearings. Any other issues with the 06 150/Lincoln with the 5.4 3v?

Bumper insert

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can find a chrome bumper insert for a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT which matches the factory chrome grill
