Pics of my 2000 F250 Super Duty- Now with 05-07 Headlight Coversion
Hey everyone,
Thought I'd post pics of my truck. This truck belonged to my my Grandfather who decided he wasnt safe to drive. He and I made a deal on it.
It is a 2000 F250 XLT SD, 5.4, manual trans, 4.10 gears. It has 56,000 miles on it. The interior is perfect, exterior has typical wear. The wheels were horrible. My dad and I just spent 8 hours stripping the clearcoat and polishing them. They are not perfect but look a heck of a lot better than they did.
Also, my dad modified my grille. He noticed that there was shiny stuff under the nicks in the black paint. A little elbow grease and some lacquer thinner and I have a chrome grille. Looks alot better.
The only thing I dont like is the diamond plate running boards and flaps, those are getting changed.
Also converted the headlights to the 05-07 look. This job went fairly smooth, but the instructions underestimate the cutting required to the header panel. Its not enough to weaken the panel alot, but you do have to cut a good bit more than I expected. My dad used to do auto body work so I let him take charge fitting these. We ran into a little fitment problem on the right side as a result of a little fender bender my pap had when he ran the truck. The core support must have been tweaked just enough to pull the header panel out of alignment. Took a little extra time on that one but they look great. We were happy with the quality and final fit.
Other than that maybe just tinting the windows and a new steering box. Sector shaft is twisted and there isnt enough adjustment to center the steering wheel.
Thanks for looking,
Shawn

It is an XLT. The outside edge of the grille was chrome. The inside of the grille and the two bars going through the center were black or dark gray, whatever it is.
