Cool 2008 F250 Cruise Control stopped working

Tried the cruise this morning and it wouldn't come on. Checked the owners manual for fuse or relay location and it's not listed. Can somone please provide me the fuse/relay number for the cruise control or other suggestions on trouble shooting the problem. Have several long trips coming up shortly so I need to get it fixed ASAP.
Thanks

If your airbag light is staying on, then it's probably your clockspring.

Is it under warrenty?

Check the basic things first.

If its a 6 speed, will it start with the clutch pedal out?
Are the brake lights on even when your not pressing the pedal?
Have you checked the fuses?
Does the horn work?

The air bag light stays on for about 3 seconds after the engine is started. Horn works. Brake lights are working properly and do not stay on after the pedal is released.
There are about 70+ fuses/relays listed in the manual but it doesn't say which one is for the cruise control.

Truck has 126,000 miles so the warranty ended several months ago.

First of all, what engine do you have? On a diesel, cruise functions are entirely controlled by the PCM, so there is no special fuse. On a gas, it's probably fed off of one of the RUN feeds.

Second, try this diagnostic...

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ml#post8315477

It will tell you if your cruise switches and clock spring are all good.

In 2008 there shouldn't be a Speed Control fuse... it's all part of the PCM. When you activate cruise control, it just transfers throttle input from your foot to an array of sensors. That is the beauty of having an electronic throttle. You don't actually modulate the throttle with the gas pedal, you're simply telling the computer how you want it to modulate the throttle.

one of those sensors must be reading unexpected values.

...you are pressing ON and then SET while traveling over 30mph, correct?

check your batteries, they have been known to do some wierd things on these trucks. Get them load tested while in the truck. NAPA or Autozone will do it for free.

I drive a 2008 Ford van for work. The cruise stopped working on it a while back. The dealer plugged in their fancy computer and started testing the switches on the steering wheel... all were working as they should. He reached down and pressed the brake pedal while watching the computer screen & there it was! Brake pressure switch on the master cylinder was bad. The pressure switch is an additional kill switch for the cruise. If tapping the pedal to activate the brake lights fails to disengage the cruise, the pressure switch will. In my case it was sticking, preventing the cruise from working at all.

Not sure where the pressure switch is but they ended up replacing a sensor or module on mine for about $275.
Traded this dog in last April after the 3rd fuel pump went out in 180,000 mles.
