2007 Explorer radiator install
Got 56000 miles on my '07 4.0 Eddie Bauer and have had a light leak from the radiator for about 4000 miles. Numerous complaints on the net about these radiators in 06-07 models. I'm posting this to give some insight on what I encountered doing the swap and what I found that made the project pretty simple. There are (2) bolts that hold the A/C condenser tight between the side supports for the radiator/condenser and if you loosen these it gives the supports the movement you need to pull the radiator out. If you look down over the radiator in front you will see them and this will make the difference in hours of doing this swap. When you're installing your new one remove the (4) fan shroud clips on the side supports to give ease in sliding the radiator down into the brackets. I took pics of everything and when I have the time I'd like to do a tech article for this installation.

I'd be interested in a tech article on this. My '06 has a radiator leak and the guys at the garage said it is where the reservoir meets the radiator itself and that stopleak/barsleak doesn't work well for fixing leaks in that area. They quoted me something like $500 to replace the radiator. I should be able to get the part and do it myself at my uncle's place with his help. I didn't know this was a common issue with 06/07 Explorers. TIA.

But, I HATE the idea of a crimped-on tank!...........

Maybe a dumb question, but what is the secret to changing the fittings for the tranny lines? advance auto parts sold me a small plastic "tool" for removing the old fittings and its not working, any suggestions on where i can find an online manual or web site detailing the replacement of the fittings would be a great help.
