SoCalFord

Hey So Cal Ford friends!

I'm Hank and I am the Social Media guy for SoCalFord on Facebook and Twitter. I am excited to see a Chapter for SoCal Ford Truck Enthusiasts.

I'll be sure to give you guys updates on my findings and if anything new is going on or if I can help in anyway just let me know!

Thank you for the welcome Steve.

Actually you might know this better than anyone - On the SoCalFord Facebook they're doing the 'Trade Up to Ford' - Do you know anyone who traded in their vehicle for a new 2011 Ford Truck (or any vehicle)?

Welcome to FTE & the SoCal Chapter.

I will be doing just that...if I like the new engines the 2011 F150 offers.

I signed up to drive the new F150's on 11/18/2010. See the announcement of this event in this forum.

The trade will be a 2008 Fusion.

Thank you for the welcome numberdummy!

I have a few friends attending that same event. That would be a great trade up, how do you like your Ford Fusion?

I look forward to the updates about this!

I like the Fusion very much...it's the best Ford passenger car I've owned since I sold my purchased new 1983 LTD (midsize) in 1999.

However, I cannot say that for the 2004 F150 Lariat I owned. The brakes were horrid, and the 5.4L was a dog....couldn't pull a sick trollop off a porcelain device.

In other words, its get up and go...got up and went. This is why I want to drive a 2011 F150 with a 302 and the 6.2L before buying one.

Both these engines are SOHC's, while the Tundra 5.7L & Titan 5.6L V8's are DOHC's.

The Titan's 5.6L runs circles around the anemic 5.4L. I know, because I've owned both.

The first coupla SoCal GTG's, I showed up in a 2006 Titan...not something a retired Ford partsman would normally drive.

Very interesting and I appreciate the feedback. Let me know what happens with your F-150 drive and/or you have any friends that recently purchased a 2011 Ford.

Do you work at a Ford Dealer? If so...which one.

NumberDummy, I do not work for any specific dealers. I manage the SoCalFord Facebook and Twitter and assist Southern California Ford drivers and the community with news, content and assistance.

When I asked you to let me know if you or anyone you know has recently purchased a 2011 Ford vehicle, it's because we are doing the 'Trade Up to Ford'. We are asking people what car they previously had before switching to a new 2011 Ford. The winning story with pictures and video submissions could win a chance to be in the next 'Trade Up to Ford' television spot.
