1993 F350 7.3 engine swap

I am looking to put a remanufactured engine in my 1993 F350 that has the .7.3 diesel ( non turbo, with a serpentine belt). My brother found a drop in 7.3 remanufactured by DealersDiesel, but the part number indicates it is for 1988 to 1992 and was for a van. Can this be made to work? Also is there a difference if the engine had a manual or automatic transmission hooked to it? mine is manual. On the "new" engine, the fuel filter is on the opposite side, it has pulleys for regular belts, and my brother thinks the end of the crankshaft looks like it is for an automatic. thanks for your input.

The dip stick will be longer, and fuel filter on the driver side if it's for a Van.

Other than that, no difference, you can put a van engine in a truck, but can't put a truck engine in a van without moding it.

No difference auto or standard transmission other than the fly-wheel.

Can I ask what happen to the other 7.3?

thanks for the info. The engine still runs, but weak after 300,000 miles of dirty Alaska marine fuel, the whole fuel injection systems bad. Originally I was just looking for a fuel injector pump, and maybe some .injectors, but my brother who works for a big diesel outfit found this engine cheaper than a pump, and all that is included.

Ah ok, cause i'm sure with just a new fuel system she'll be as good as new!

But if you can get a good strong 7.3 for cheaper than an IP, then why not?
