I have a 1953 F100 and a 1986 Crown Vic. I would like to know what all I will need and is compatible to swap into the 53? I am considering keeping it fuel injected. Also will any of the brakes work on the 53?
The brakes will work in the 53 if you make them work.
As far as dropping the CV engine in the 53 for a start, you'll need to convert it to 12 Volt negative ground. You'll need new motor and transmission mounts - drive shaft of course. And the usual hook up mods - shift, throttle, ignition, probably modify the exhaust, radiator connections, transmission cooler.
There's probably tons more but that's a good enough start. You and 55F350 will probably get along famously.
this is what i grabbed, the complete front end, gutted the car and grabbed the complete harness, grab the master and booster, rear end, steering column, front seat if you want, i`m not using them because i feel there a bit too big for the cab, fuel lines, i haven`t got to the radiator part on my truck but by just laying it in place looks like it also can be used, and i think thats about it! i`m using a mustang fuel tank and will probably try and modify the crown vic fuel pump to fit in it, wiper motor will also be modified and fit to the f100 wiper system, and i think thats about it!
