I bought a 2000 f250 witha v10 and when I bought it it had a flowmaster 40series already installed. I have been wanting to put an spd performance y pipe on my truck for a long time and last week I finally bought it and installed it it sounds like a v6!!!!!!!!!! Is there anothervmuffler anyone has that could fix this?? Anyone that has the y pipe aswell. Any suggestions will help.
thanks
I dont have a problem with how a v10 sounds im thinking more like a viper sound than the s10with a flowmaster would be nice though. The general idea that im getting tho is that if i choose a more free flowing muffler than what i have now that that will help my issue?
I have the SPD "y" pipe and I'm running a magnaflow in single out dual muffler, I think it sounds pretty good. Its not too loud and gives out just enough sound at idle and doesn't drone on the highway. Hope this helps.
I have the y-pipe with the cherrybomb extreme. It's loud outside the truck, but I left the exhaust exit in the same location so the drone is not very noticeable inside the truck. Some guys will tell you the cherrybomb doesn't have the right capacity etc. etc.. I sure think it sounds great though!
I did not notice a gain, or loss of power. Mpg's are still the same as well. It just sounds different. Also after I did the y-pipe mod I couldn't tell if I had gained anything or not.
I have Y pipe and PI heads.
I found the Flowmaster Big Block 50 to be the least obnoxious. This is the biggest, highest capacity muffler FM offers.
Not as quiet as stock, but can still carry on a comfortable conversation when pulling heavy loads up steep grades.
If in a salt using area, you may find the lack of a stainless steel version annoying.
If you're after loud, well, ignore me. I hate loud.
I have a Magnaflow dual in dual out and I think it sounds great. Its a little loud when pulling hard but that's what the radio is there for. Crank it up.
