Yes they do- all I need are a set of lugs to hold the putter whelks on!
Can't find me! You have any I can buy?

truckdog62563 05-12-2015 08:52 AM

I emailed you back about the fasteners. Will mention here too that they can be found at Napa or others of the better parts houses, but you may have to get past the moron on the computer to get to a guy that knows. They are standard Budd designed pieces, no changes from the earliest days (late '20s) to the present. Today made by Dorman, Euclid, and others. I've bought them locally at the IHC dealer and at the OTR trailer dealer. I bet you could find them too at one of the big I-5 truck stops. I'll pull up the Dorman on-line catalog and see if they sell them retail or just wholesale to suppliers.

Here's the Euclid catalog page. I think I saw too that you can buy them through Amazon. Stu

Hope my 55 F6 looks that good someday. Do you have a set of the 19.5 in Illinois?
Be a good day trip for me.

auto doug 05-16-2015 08:55 AM

Here's my 19.5's

I found mine in a pasture on an old chassis yet so I bought the whole deal. A box of donuts a stop off at the local tire dealer truck shop, I had a guy come out and rattle my nuts loose! Media blasted epoxied & painted silver, found 4 like new tiers off CL, removed the lower leafs.

A couple of pizzas at lunch time can go a long way at the tire shop as well, the mobile service truck guy stopped by my shop rattle more of my nuts loose, mounted & ballanced the 4 new tires! & I'm looking stylish as well, i dig the new lower look!

And thanks to Stu for help with details on this conversion.

mokandshuk 05-16-2015 08:35 PM

truckdog62563 do you have a set of the 19.5s left that would fit this? Also could you please take a look at the rims on this and see if they are widowmakers or the continuous lock ring rims
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...terceptor.html

farmboy555 05-17-2015 12:49 PM

I haven't read your thread until now, I'm sorry. Ass-u-med I wouldn't have much to contribute. Wrong. I'll weigh in on your thread and try to sort things out for you, or at minimum not add confusion. I do still have two sets of 19.5s. Stu

truckdog62563 05-26-2015 08:34 PM

I'm now out of wheels. I also have fear that the yard we've had a relationship with out west has now dried up. I'll be going back out on the road looking through yards, and will update this if I find sets. I also have friends who have their eyes open for wheels and will refer guys to them. Thx. Stu

truckdog62563 06-27-2015 02:00 PM

I heard back from my friend Josh that he has an available set. Josh lives in the Salt Lake City area. He might post on here to connect with you, or you can find him by his user name JMadsen by going to the second page of the classified listing where he has other parts listed. Good luck. Stu

truckdog62563 06-28-2015 12:30 PM

It's interesting to me that the foreign company making the new repop's has adopted the old Budd Company number for them. Budd is long gone as a company so I guess it's open season on numbering sequences. The new wheels don't look exactly like the old ones having a much wider face to, I theorize, accept modern disc brake calipers. Another company that sells these repop's is American Wheel Specialist of Pasco, WA. If you live in the western states the wheels can be bought through Les Schwab or Commercial Tire. American Wheel Specialist is the wholesaler to Schwab and Commercial Tire, but will sell directly to guys who live east of those companies' service areas. Stu

Whats the price on tem

truckdog62563 07-12-2015 06:23 AM

Price is listed at top of each page, $85. All sold and don't know when I'll find more. Factory new 19.5s are described a few postings back, and factory new 19.5s and 22.5s are being discussed in this current thread. Stu

Hi,
Just wanted to ask if you still had the rims, also do you know if they will fit an International Metro Aluminum 1500?

truckdog62563 08-04-2015 08:47 AM

I do not have an available set. But I did text my friend Josh Madsen, and he has an available set. I hesitate to post his email or phone number here, so would suggest you go down the ad page a few lines to find an ad of Josh's. If you reply there he will see it and respond. Thanks.

An IHC Metro should have the same 5 lug x 8" pattern. Most likely you now have 17" split ring type wheels. Probably Budd 59340 or 66520. Stu

jozebrow 08-04-2015 11:53 AM

Thanks for the reply. I am new when it comes to forums, not sure where to look for the "ad"page" to find Josh.

Thank you again for your help

truckdog62563 08-04-2015 01:16 PM

Here's his current ad.

I am looking for 8.25 x 20 6 bolt stud centered w/locking ring Budd rims that were used on the 75-79 F60 series truck to fit my 56 Chevy C6500 grain truck. Any help locating these would be greatly appreciated.

truckdog62563 05-09-2016 09:12 AM

Haven't heard of any for a while. Will come back here to comment if a set surfaces. Stu

Edit - forgot this thread. There is a mix of designs so you'd have to avoid the widow makers. Stu

Hi, I have been looking for a replacement for the three piece rims that are on my 1949 f-5 stake rack. I can't afford new and was wondering if anyone had or knew where to locate one piece rims? I believe they are #89340, thanks in advance.

truckdog62563 05-30-2016 01:17 PM

Welcome to FTE. I see from your profile that you live in NY. I don't have any available sets right now, and don't know of any that my wheel contacts might have. I did a Craig's List search and found only one set in the eastern US. Here is that listing. Hope it is helpful. Stu

Winnebago parting out

Thank you!

Thanks Stu. I'll check it out and hopefully find what I need. Please let me know if you run in to any other viable options. Best - Mike

1949-F5 06-04-2016 06:13 PM

bad news, i called the listing you sent me, he bought the winnabago for the rims and tires, thats why he is parting it out. thank you tho, if you hear of any please keep me in mind. the search remains. Mike

truckdog62563 06-04-2016 06:34 PM

That's too bad, but it's a sure way to find a set. I'll keep my ears open. Stu
