To mount on your 1942 moto tug, interesting application. I'll email you direct. Thanks. Stu

I'm in Oregon now and have loaded several sets of 19.5s on the trailer to haul home to Illinois in a week or so. If any west coast truck owners are wanting sets I'd suggest you speak up to save shipping costs. I expect other sets will come available out here in the coming months, but this load will clean out my son's supply. Stu

Just to update, I now have a few sets of the 19.5" Budd #89340 wheels in central Illinois. I also left some sets in Oregon to help guys in western states. Stu
|
To again update, I'll be heading back to Oregon in a couple weeks and will be bringing back a few sets of 89340s. Stu
|
Where in or are those wheels? Please pm me
|
Jeremy and I spoke on the phone. I'm in Portland now and will be hauling two or three sets back to Illinois in the next week to ten days. Stu
|
What is a set of 6 split rim going for? U have 6 with the split ring on the out side.
|
No standard amount that I've ever experienced. I've sometimes gotten them free, and I've paid $10 each at swap meets to keep them from being crushed. I've also paid quite a bit more for the correct Budd part #59340 wheels for my Marmon-Herrington. I've also paid more for NOS side ring wheels at auction. I'd add that shipping isn't gonna be an easy because they are so heavy. I'd take what somebody offers if it's reasonable. Stu
|
I now am back from Oregon and brought a few sets of the 19.5" x 6" wheels, Budd 89340, back to Illinois. Stu
|
Found a set at RV junk yard on I44 in Missouri between Joplin and Springfield, but they wanted $150 each for them.....bummer that's $900 for the 6 I needed....any demand at all for the old widow makers or should a guy sell them for junk or just bury them somewhere? If I ever find any I won;t know what to do with the old ones...
Any chance someone makes a 10-hole wheel with the same bolt circle and a guy use every-other hole? |
Recycling should yield a few bucks. No other good use, except maybe as a grinder base. I've got a set of 19.5" tubeless here if you want to save the frustration of looking through yards. And heck, I'm way more reasonable than the yard operator you talked to. Stu
|
How far are you from Springfield, MO?
|
Springfield, Illinois area. Stu

Hi Stu, if you have a set of 6 available, I could get my '50 F4 on the road in the spring! Can you email me at bobby_bizzle@hotmail.com and let me know if you have any? I live near Aurora, IL. Thanks! Bob

Email sent. Stu

Stu, I am in need of replacements for my 1952 F5. I would like to find seven to have a spare. This will be used as a farm truck on or small vineyard.
Thanks, Ted Adams adamst1049@yahoo.com |

I just got home from having old tires pulled and the prices have gone up. I was paying $10 each but today it cost me $18 each. I then called the other shop in town that pulls and recycles 19.5s and was told they now charge $24 each. They used to be $15 each if I remember right. So this now yields a total of $103 each for wheels with no tires. If somebody wants a set with tires still mounted the price remains $85 each. I have one set of six here in Illinois that have no cracking, and one set in Oregon that I can't attest to the condition of. Then there is one set here in Illinois without tires. Stu

The second set mentioned above is also now available. Here's a picture of that set of six. Same details and description as the others. Stu
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ls/photo10.jpg Still available? Or have a set of 6, that will fit a 48 ford f-5. Shoot me and email if you do Thanks cferrino11@gmail.com |
I don't have any sets here in Illinois but have one set at our son's place in Oregon. That's a long way to ship. I know that Mark (thundersnow70) has a set available in SD, and Josh Madsen has some in SLC. Also a long way to ship. I think Joe Dunn's set (harleymsn) is closest of the ones I know of. Good luck, and if you need other specifics let me know. Stu

Still there
Are any of those 5x8" wheels still available?
|
Are they still available?
Are the 5 x 8" wheels still available? Needing a set for our '40 1-1/2 ton.
|
I have one set at my son's place in Oregon. Long way to ship to NC. Our member harleymsn (Joe) lives in TN and has had an ad for a set. You'd be ahead on shipping cost. I know of another set in SD, but that too is a long shipment. I see too there is a CA set available. If you need more info let me know. Stu
|
Great and thanks for the quick response. I'll try to check for some of the closer locations.
|
Stu do you have the set of rims in Oregon still. If so how much to ship to Eureka Montana or I am going to the swap meet in Spokane in July if your son is going I could pick them up from him there.
|
Yes, our son Michael has a set in Portland. They are without tires. I doubt he'd be intending to go to Spokane in July. The trucking company that we've used with good service is R&L Carriers. I called to get a shipping estimate to Eureka, MT, but wasn't able to on the weekend. Eureka is a little over 500 miles from Portland, so based on other sets I've shipped similar distance I'd guess the cost to be approximately $200. You save on cost if you ship depot to depot, and have an account established up front. They do ship COD. I'd suggest you call their toll free (800)543-5589 number to get a quote that fits your exact needs. The wheels weigh 45 lbs each, and with a 4 x 4 pallet six weigh right at 300 lbs. If you decide that's what you want to do please send me the "quote number", not the dollar amount, so that Michael can reference that when he drops the wheels off at their Portland depot. That number allows him to create the Bill of Lading. Hope that is helpful. Thx. Stu

Budd wheels
Ok Stu I will call tomorrow and see if they have a depot in spokane. It might be cheaper. These rims will fit my 51 F5 and replace the 20's on there now?
|
Sounds good. Let me know. Stu
|
Rims
Stu I called the shipping company that you gave me # for and they said it was $200 to ship from Portland to spokane with 1 day shipping. The quote is only good for 30 days. So I will have to phone and get another quote when it gets closer to July 11 when I go to spokane from Calgary up here in Canada. How do you want me to pay you for the rims. I can send you some kind of certified check from my bank in US dollars. I will make sure it gets there in time so you can cash it to verify that it is good. And I guess I can try and pay the shipping with my credit card. The only thing that the shipping company needed was a zip code from Portland where your son will be shipping them from but we can figure that out when it gets closer. Doug
|
Doug - I neglected to answer part of your question. The 19.5s will fit your F-5, and I'd suggest that you mount 8R19.5" tires rather than the metric sized 225/70R19.5s. The metrics are low profile which you don't want or need.
You will be buying these from my son Michael, not me. So I'd suggest you email me direct to stu_sandymcmillan at sbcglobal dot net so I can give you Michael's address, etc. Thx. Stu |
Hi Stu,
Do you have any of these rims still for sale? I have a 54 f500 that I need to replace the widowmackers. Please LMK thanks, Todd. Tvpinballs@gmail.com |
I see you are in Illinois, looks like up in the Dixon area am I right? I don't have a full set here in the Springfield area. I only have three that have nice tires. Our son also has a partial set with nice 8R19.5s in Oregon. We'll be going out there in August and will bring back what he has. He also has a full set that has nearly new 225/70 tires. If you want to avoid shipping cost by picking them up, and can wait a while, I should be able to help toward the end of the summer. If you want the set with 225/70s Michael could ship them right away, but you'd have more shipping expense. I don't know of guys with other available sets right now to refer you to. I'll email you also to go through all this. Stu

Thanks Stu picked up the wheels and tires this morning
Thanks again Mike |
Good, hope they give a lot of safe service. Stu

I got a text from my son Michael that his source has another set of six with good tires. These with tires would be $85 each for the wheels plus $25 each for the tires. Stu

19.5 5lug wheels
Stu, I'm new to this. Trying to find 6- 19.5 tubeless wheels to replace the Widow-Makers on my new 52 Cabover F5 4x4. All these posts seem old and most look like the wheels all sold. I can't tell what's still available or not ? any help would be great thanks. Ron G. Reno NV.
|
Agree it's a long discussion thread. My last post (#77 of 6/15) is the only set my son and I presently have available. It is a set of 19.5" x 6" Budd #89340 tubeless wheels with a set of nice tires. They are at our son's place in Portland, OR.
In our discussion about your truck in the main forum I suggested that Josh Madsen might be a logical source for you since he lives in Salt Lake City. Probably closer than others of us. He has, I believe still available, a set of 22.5" wheels with nice tires. The 22.5" wheel is the true replacement size for your 20" widow makers. Josh's 8-22.5" tires would be a match if you have 7.50 x 20s, while the 8R19.5s used on the 89340s will be about 3" shorter. This matters to some guys, others not so much. Your third option would be to find a set of the safer 20" tube type wheels that have a locking ring on the face of each wheel. These might still be found in your local yards. Older Fords, Dodges, and IHCs are good donors. I'm not aware of any that are now available in the classifieds, however. Those are the options. If you weigh everything and want to do the 19.5s please say. Stu |
hey, my ears are burning! :) just kidding. Thanks Stu. and yes I do have some 22.5" wheels here. I also have a set of 19.5 wheels but told another member here from Colorado that he could get them but I haven't heard back, I guess I need to follow up on that.
Ron, let me know if I can help with your wheel situation. Might even be able to help with someone going that direction, or at least to Elko? Shipping is a pain if you don't have to, but don't mind. Thanks Josh |
