Jeremy and I spoke on the phone. I'm in Portland now and will be hauling two or three sets back to Illinois in the next week to ten days. Stu

What is a set of 6 split rim going for? U have 6 with the split ring on the out side.

truckdog62563 10-15-2013 04:12 PM

No standard amount that I've ever experienced. I've sometimes gotten them free, and I've paid $10 each at swap meets to keep them from being crushed. I've also paid quite a bit more for the correct Budd part #59340 wheels for my Marmon-Herrington. I've also paid more for NOS side ring wheels at auction. I'd add that shipping isn't gonna be an easy because they are so heavy. I'd take what somebody offers if it's reasonable. Stu

I now am back from Oregon and brought a few sets of the 19.5" x 6" wheels, Budd 89340, back to Illinois. Stu

Found a set at RV junk yard on I44 in Missouri between Joplin and Springfield, but they wanted $150 each for them.....bummer that's $900 for the 6 I needed....any demand at all for the old widow makers or should a guy sell them for junk or just bury them somewhere? If I ever find any I won;t know what to do with the old ones...

Any chance someone makes a 10-hole wheel with the same bolt circle and a guy use every-other hole?

Recycling should yield a few bucks. No other good use, except maybe as a grinder base. I've got a set of 19.5" tubeless here if you want to save the frustration of looking through yards. And heck, I'm way more reasonable than the yard operator you talked to. Stu

How far are you from Springfield, MO?

truckdog62563 11-23-2013 06:39 PM

Springfield, Illinois area. Stu

Hi Stu, if you have a set of 6 available, I could get my '50 F4 on the road in the spring! Can you email me at bobby_bizzle@hotmail.com and let me know if you have any? I live near Aurora, IL. Thanks! Bob

Stu, I am in need of replacements for my 1952 F5. I would like to find seven to have a spare. This will be used as a farm truck on or small vineyard.
Thanks,
Ted Adams

I just got home from having old tires pulled and the prices have gone up. I was paying $10 each but today it cost me $18 each. I then called the other shop in town that pulls and recycles 19.5s and was told they now charge $24 each. They used to be $15 each if I remember right. So this now yields a total of $103 each for wheels with no tires. If somebody wants a set with tires still mounted the price remains $85 each. I have one set of six here in Illinois that have no cracking, and one set in Oregon that I can't attest to the condition of. Then there is one set here in Illinois without tires. Stu
